MeteoSwiss, the Federal Office for Meteorology and Climatology actively supports teaching and research in the field of meteorology and climatology and provides schools, universities and their students with free data for educational purposes.

 

Measured values online on our homepage

  • Our Homogeneous series of measurements contain monthly values of temperature and precipitation from the following stations: Basel, Bern, Château d'Oex, Chaumont, Davos, Engelberg, Geneva, Lugano, Säntis, Sils/Segl-Maria, Sion, Zurich.

Meteorological and climatological data on ECA&D

Within the scope of the project European Climate Assessment & Dataset (ECA&D) MeteoSwiss provides monthly and daily values of 7 different parameters for teaching and research purposes. Data cover the period from 1900 to 2004. Stations: Basel, Geneva, Lugano, Säntis, Zurich, and different European stations.

 

Individual ground measured values

If you order individual ground measured values you will be charged to cover our expenses if they amount to more than CHF 100.?. You can minimise our expenses by making your order as precise as possible ? if you need help in this regard, you will find more information on meteorological networks and stations online.
When placing an order, we kindly ask you to indicate the full address of your school/university and to provide us with a short description on how you will use the data. For orders, please contact our customer care.

If you frequently use ground measured values, we recommend CLIMAP-net, our software for accessing and displaying measured data.
