The main purpose of the following linked document is to provide guidance for standardization and harmonization of the procedures and formats related to the aeronautical meteorological warnings for hazardous en-route meteorological phenomena, known as SIGMET information.
The document only includes guidance concerning SIGMET messages for significant enroute weather phenomena and volcanic ash SIGMET messages. The third type, tropical cyclone SIGMET messages, are excluded as this phenomenon does not occur in the EUR Region.
